Our Student Council has been busy finalizing their June activities. Students can look forward to Western Day on June 13th. The "Cowboy Show" (Rancher's Rodeo) is next weekend at the Ag. Grounds. Admissions is free! Check out the link for more information :) In honour of this event, they reckon staff and students should dress up all western-like. Then they will host a Wacky Hair Day on June 18th. Finally, the year will end with a Grade 5/6 Dance on June 20 from 12-1pm. We thank Mrs. Duncan for sponsoring our Student Council and all students who contributed to service learning initiatives and school wide fun activities this year!
The Minister of Education and Childcare announced that Alberta’s government is considering new standards that would provide consistent requirements for school boards in selecting and managing school library collections that include sexual content. These changes are a response to an increasing number of concerns from stakeholders, including parents, regarding availability of explicit sexual content to students in some school libraries. Please consider completing the survey for the Government of Alberta. Further information, including the news release and public survey, can be found at school library standards engagement. The survey will be open until June 6, 2025, and is expected to take 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
Canyon is selling yearbooks again this year for $20! If you are interested in ordering, please go to ybpay.ca Enter Yearbook ID Code: 14946125. Yearbook forms were sent home this week as well if you prefer to return the paper copy. Our school yearbooks will arrive in September and we will ensure Grade 6 orders are delivered to MHHS.
