We had another great week of learning here at Canyon. There were many field trips, a pizza lunch, our Jump Event and a wonderful School Council and Booster meeting.
75 students fundraised and participated in our Jump Event! They did an amazing job at skipping and jumping! We thank all parents who were able to come out and support our skippers. Today was also exciting as we reached our Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser goal! Thank you to all who have contributed to this cause. As we've reached our goal, students will receive and extra recess and special treat from Mrs. Noel! Fundraising is still open for another week as some students are still actively trying to reach their personal fundraising goals. Student Council is tasked to come up with another prize if we set an even higher goal and reach it! Wow!
School Council had a great meeting. All parents are welcome to attend and need not sign up for a role. We are looking for Members at Large and your input is valuable to us. Some school operations parents advise on include: calendar dates, reviewing school data and setting school goals, as well as learning about many other school operations. You can view the school council agenda and minutes here. There is also an opportunity to join via google meet if that is more convenient. We thank those parents who are able to attend and provide feedback to make our children's school even better!
Finally, Day on the Creek planning is underway and will be on May 16th. The Day on the Creek organizers are looking for volunteers. If you or someone you know would like to volunteer your time and/or expertise for the day, please contact Nora Manners at nmanners@watertonbiosphere.com If you would like to volunteer to attend with your child's class, please contact their teacher directly.
