Many thanks to our amazing Booster Society and all parents for making Canyon's Welcome Back BBQ a huge success! Everyone had a great time and the weather was fantastic. Special thanks to the construction crew who assembled the Gaga Ball pit yesterday. Students were very excited to play Gaga Ball today! It's a fun addition to our field.
This week our School Resource Officers stopped by for a visit and to say hello. Cst. Feran and Cst. Welsh will be supporting our school through-out the year. They intend to stop by a few more times and we hope to see them around for Halloween/Christmas and for our first lock down practice.
It was wonderful to welcome our youngest learners to the school this week. Early Learning and Kindergarten started their programming. We wish them an engaging year of learning, growth and friendship.
Canyon School will be participating in this year’s 45th Anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope on September 19th at 12:15pm. This will be a whole school walk with classes walking together. Parents and community members are invited to join us on the walk. Please help show your support by donating to our school’s online fundraising page. Fundraising Link: https://schools.terryfox.ca/
We have had positive feedback on the - Canyon2Go - app for sharing outgoing school communication. Please be sure to sign up and subscribe to your child's homeroom class. The app is free for parents to use. Parents are able to send attendance notifications when children are absent, as well as, access our school news. Along with using the student agenda, teachers will also be sending home classroom communication and reminders through this app. To offset some of the cost for the app, parents have the option to contribute $7.00 if they wish. The app is still accessible for free, even without contributing to the cost. We very much appreciate parent support by keeping up with classroom communication for school activities and learning throughout the year.
