Parent Memo - Jan. 31st

Canyon School Weekly Memo
January 31st, 2025
"The Canyon School Community will nurture caring, respectful citizens who embrace lifelong learning."
This week kicked off our 12th Annual 1 Book, 5 Schools literacy event. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our assembly on Wednesday. This will be a fun book to read together as a family! We understand it can be challenging to set aside 15-20 minutes to read each night. If this is the case, please find the audio files here. We hope you enjoy the book, Dogtown.
We are fortunate to have Mr. Clark as our Learning Commons Facilitator. For the past few years he has shared a part-time position with both MHHS and Canyon. This upcoming semester MHHS has requested he be there in the afternoons. Should you need to speak with Mr. Clark, he is now available at Canyon during the morning. Student library classes have been adjusted and the new schedule for class book exchanges began this week.
On Tuesday, the Board of Trustees heard the 4-day school week exploration report. A detailed public report and 1-page summary report are now available at www.lrsd.ca/4dayweek. The Division blog post about the report to the Trustees appears on our school website under District News. Please view at your leisure.
We are now accepting registrations for the 2025/2026 school year. To register for Kindergarten or Early Learning, please visit here.
Enjoy the weekend! :)
